History

Western Heights Baptist Church was organized July 29, 1956 with 52 charter members. Interim Pastor Dr. J.W. Ousley served until the first full time minister was called. Rev. J. Henry Brown became the first and longest serving pastor of Western Heights on March 1, 1957. He served until September 1, 1979. After Rev. Brown’s departure, Western Heights was served by several pastors, including Rev. Charles Dixon and Rev. Mike Patterson, along with many dedicated staff.

Our Senior Pastor today is Brother Kip Osborne. He has been on staff at Western Heights since March 1999, serving in leadership roles with music and senior adults. He became full time Senior Pastor in January 2021.

We have had many wonderful families and individuals who were a part of our church throughout our 65 years of ministry.
